Dear Clients and Friends: When someone does a small contracting job for you, in addition to other items, please get a copy of their General Liability Certificate of Insurance. I recently had a client who had a roof put on improperly. While the General Liability Policy does not cover the quality of craftsmanship of the contractor -- it may cover damage that is done to your ceiling and walls if as a result of their negligent installation.
